You can't get much rarer then a 1 of 1 card especially when it's a printing plate. On June 2nd the 1 of 1 Upper Deck Goodwin Cyan Printing plate sold for $41 on eBay. The 2011 Goodwin is not the coolest card set ever made, the reason being Upper Deck no longer has a baseball license so the players are not in uniform (Sandberg is wearing a regular jacket. Always cool to add a 1 of 1 to your collection at a reasonable price. We will be looking at all the 1 of 1 cards that sell in the future. If you have any you'd like to share please email us.
That is right today marks the 27th anniversary of the game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs. The game was a Nationally televised game, NBC's game of the week. Over the years this game has become known simple as the Sandberg Game. Ryno took future Hall of Fame reliever Bruce Sutter deep twice to tie the game which the Cubs eventually won in extra innings. The game is credited with putting the national spotlight on the Cubs and Sandberg, who would go on to win the National League MVP. As a kid I was fortunate to have watched this game on NBC and it one of the reasons I became a Sandberg fan.
After 5 years of coaching in the Cubs system, Ryne Sandberg will begin coaching in the Phillies Minor league system this coming season. He will be the Manager of the Triple-A Leahigh Valley Iron Pigs. One of the first things Sandberg did when he entered Phillies spring training camp was praise Phillies second basemen Chase Utley. "He is cut in the same mold". Sandberg said of Utley. Coming from a Hall of Fame second basemen that must mean a lot to Utley. The two have already talked about staying healthy for a 162 game season. The presence of Sandberg can only help Utley continue to improve.
The Chiefs were pounded by the play-off bound Kane County Cougars in what many believe will be Ryne Sandbergs last game as manager of the team. Although no one really knows where Sandberg will end up next season, many think it will not be for a third season at the helm of the Chiefs. Daytona is a more likely destination, following in the footsteps of former teammate Jody Davis. We should know in the next couple of months where Ryno will be headed next season.

Ryne Sandberg will be making his return to Wrigley Field tonight for the first ever Minor League game played at Wrigley Field.
